You need:
Louts 6.5.4 installer
User's ID file
BatChmod
Know what mail server the user is on.
Admin rights on the computer
1.
Login with an Administrator account.
2.
Check to see if Lotus Notes is already installed and remove it if it is. Uninstall by
deleti
ng the 'Lotus Notes' folder in Applications and these to preference files in
~/Library/Preferences/
com.ibm.lotus.Notes.plist
and
Notes Preferences
.
3.
Open the Lotus 6.5.4.dmg, Run the Installer. At Welcome screen click Continue.
4.
Choose an Install Typ
e: You should see and select
Clean Install
. Click Continue. If
the installer selects Upgrade Existing Install, it may still be on the computer. Find it
an
d delete it. Then start over.
5.
Agree to the License Agreement.
6.
Select Install Location. Leave it i
n the Applications directory. For now, leave the
Data folder to install in the Lotus Notes folder. Don't check the box.

Easy Install, click Contiune

Go to the Applications folder and open the Lotus
Notes folder

Right click (Control + Click) on the Data folder and select 'Create Archive of Data'

You should now have a ZIP archive of the Data folder which can be stored here
and used again later if needed.

Open Batchmod

Click on the File button and locate the Lotus Notes folder in the Applications folder.

Click on
the W button twice under Group, click on the W button twice under
Everyone. Check the box to 'Apply ownership and privileges' to enclo
sed files and
folders. This will give read/write/execute access rights to all the users on the
computer and prevents problems with the dictionary and spell check. Click Apply.

Click Apply, Yes we are sure. click apply.
16.
Give your admin pass
word. Quit Batchmod.

Logout as the admin and login as the user.

Open the Lotus Notes folder in the Applications folder. Move (don't copy) the Data
folder to the user's Documents folder. You'll still have the Data.zip file in the Lotus
Notes
folder. You should
not
have a 'Data' folder in the Lotus Notes folder now.

Rename the Data folder to 'Lotus Notes Data' in the users Documents folder.
20.
Drag the user's ID file to the Lotus Notes Data folder.

Type in Last name, search, click on their name and then look at the URL. Write
down or remember what server they are on (spps, spps2, etc.)
